Terms of Service

By accessing or using School Bus Hero ("the Platform"), operated by Red Barn Software LLC (dba School Bus Hero), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including applicants, employers, associations, and visitors.

School Bus Hero is a recruiting visibility platform for the school transportation industry. We help employers increase their visibility to potential candidates and provide tools for managing recruiting content, driver credentials, and operational readiness.

School Bus Hero is not:

• An applicant tracking system (ATS)
• A staffing or hiring agency
• An employment or background check service
• A compliance certification authority
• A route mapping or fleet management system

We provide tools and visibility. Employment decisions, hiring, compliance verification, and all related responsibilities remain solely with the employer and applicant.

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and that you have the legal authority to agree to these Terms.

If you are creating an employer or association account, you represent that you have the authority to bind your organization to these Terms.

Applicant accounts are free. Applicants can create profiles, upload documents, express interest in positions, and access career resources at no cost.

Employer accounts progress through the following states:

• Free Listing — Your company appears on the Platform with basic information (company name, locations, job types). This listing is visible to job seekers but does not include access to recruiting tools, analytics, or content features.
• Activated — A 30-day value window that gives you full access to Platform features so you can experience the value before committing to a subscription. This period begins when your account is activated.
• Subscribed — An active paid subscription that provides ongoing access to all Platform features, including recruiting tools, content generation, analytics, driver management, and credential tracking.

Association accounts are paid accounts that represent groups of employers. Pricing and terms are established at the time of enrollment.

Employers are responsible for:

• The accuracy of their company information, job postings, and bonus offers
• All hiring decisions and employment practices at their organization
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
• Managing team member access and permissions on their account
• Reviewing and approving any AI-generated content before it is published
• Responding to applicant inquiries in a timely and professional manner

School Bus Hero does not verify the accuracy of employer information, job postings, or bonus offers, and is not responsible for employer hiring decisions or practices.

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service in addition to these Terms.

• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan).
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, your access continues through the end of the current billing period.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect the current billing period.

The Platform may generate content using artificial intelligence, including but not limited to articles, summaries, and operational insights. This content is AI-assisted and is provided for informational purposes.

• AI-generated content is a draft that should be reviewed by the employer or account holder before publishing or acting upon it.
• School Bus Hero does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content.
• Employers are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any AI-generated content published through their account.
• School Bus Hero is not liable for any errors, omissions, or consequences arising from AI-generated content.

As part of our monthly check-in emails and other communications, employers may be invited to share information about their company — hiring updates, quotes about what it's like to work there, operational facts, and similar material. When you send us that content (by replying to a check-in email, submitting it through the Platform, or otherwise communicating it to us for use on your profile), you are making a Content Submission.

By making a Content Submission, you grant School Bus Hero a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, revocable license to:

• Publish, display, and excerpt the submission on your public employer profile
• Use the submission to inform AI-generated articles about your company
• Edit the submission for length, clarity, and formatting (without changing its meaning)
• Attribute the submission using the name and role you provide, or without attribution if none is provided

You represent that:

• You have the authority to submit the content on behalf of your organization
• The content is yours to share — it doesn't violate anyone else's rights
• Any quote attributed to a specific named person was provided with that person's knowledge
• The content doesn't contain confidential information about your drivers, applicants, or customers

Takedown: You may revoke permission for any specific submission at any time by replying "remove" to the original check-in email or emailing hello@schoolbushero.com. We will remove the affected content from public surfaces within 5 business days of a written request.

School Bus Hero retains the right (but not the obligation) to decline to publish any submission, or to remove previously published content, if we believe it's inaccurate, unverified, or otherwise unsuitable for the Platform.

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent job listings or company information
• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or bulk communications through the Platform
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Platform by automated means
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or Platform systems
• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation or infrastructure
• Impersonate another person or organization
• Upload malicious software or harmful content

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

The Platform, including its design, features, content, and code, is the property of Red Barn Software LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform without our written permission.

Content you upload or create through the Platform (company profiles, job postings, documents) remains your property. By posting content on the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content as part of the Platform's normal operation.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• School Bus Hero is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
• Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• We are not responsible for employment decisions, hiring outcomes, compliance status, or the accuracy of information provided by other users.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@schoolbushero.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in conduct that is harmful to other users or the Platform, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination unless immediate action is required.

Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including limitation of liability, intellectual property, and governing law) will remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
